Service Description
Government
The City of Sweetwater is a "home-rule" city, operating under the authority of the city charter adopted in 1956. The governing body is known as the City Council. The Council initiated a two-part program in April 1985 to implement a single-member district plan. The plan was completed in 1986. The City of Sweetwater also has various Boards & Commissions that provide direction for City Staff.
